This classic collectible is a very rare find. It’s one of a number of personality watches manufactured in the late 1980’s by the Bradley Watch Company, a subsidiary of the Elgin. These commemorative quartz watches were called the "The Oldies" and were billed as "everyone’s favorite never-to-be-forgotten stars in a series of collectible timepieces". All models boasted precision quartz accuracy and were battery operated and waranteed. Characters included Marilyn Monroe, Abbott & Costello, Laurel & Hardy, Emmett Kelly Jr, Elvis, W.C. Fields, and the 3 Stooges. Most models were available in both mens and womens sizes, and were packaged in similar plastic packaging and hung on a special Bradley "Time to Remember the Oldies" counter display. They were introduced in 1985 and were huge hits. They were so popular that Bradley went on to manufacture many of the same models in higher-end, high quality models with metal cases, leather straps, and genuine Bradley watch boxes with warranties.
