This is an extremely rare and hard-to-find wristwatch, an original Frito’s premium wind-up wristwatch manufactured in 1985 commemorating the Disney animated feature "The Black Cauldron". As the first Disney movie ever to garner a PG rating due to its dark nature, "The Black Cauldron" ended up a box-office failure. As a result, this little-known premium is very scarce and hard-to-find. The watchface features a picture of the cauldron in the dial center, with clouds of purple and turquoise colored smoke billowing from the pot. The name is inscribed around the picture in black lettering, with black Roman numerals at the quarter hour positions. The Walt Disney Productions copyright is at the bottom of the dial. The black strap is new and unblemished, as the watch was never worn but only displayed. The watch runs, winds, and sets and kept time accurately during a four hour test period. This is a fabulous piece to add to your Disney watch collection, and may well be the most unique piece you own. It was given an estimated value of up to $400 by Hake’s Americana and Collectibles online auction site depending on condition. This is a one-time only offering as it is the only model in stock.
